Gloves in Love: Wedding Party in the House!

…in the Statehouse, that is. I know that people love their bridal party photos- I love looking at my friends, too! However, I feel like they’re a hilariously awkward part of the day. I mean, you’re standing around with ten or twenty of your favorite people for an hour, just changing who stands where, pretending you’re on ANTM and wondering if you’re ‘smizing’ appropriately. It’s totally weird 🙂 Luckily, my glorious photographers made it as painless as possible and got some amazing photos. Have a look:

I have no idea- this guy asked if he could take a photo to send to someone. Be my guest, mysterious friend!

At some point, someone asked if the bridesmaids were going to lift McGlovin and the opposite with the groomsmen, and I had no idea what they were talking about of why that would happen. McGlovin kindly used my bouquet as a prop to explain.

And then we all gathered on the bench for my single most favorite photo of everyone.

When Lauren announced we were finished with the bridal party, they went ahead to the reception venue. She asked McGlovin and I to stay back for a minute, and took some of my favorite photos of the day {wait, I say that with all of my photos…}:

Right- my mom insisted that we take at least one ‘decent photo’ so she would have something to run in the local paper 🙂

McGlovin’s hands, hive…I can’t articulate why, but I find photos of man hands- especially man’s hands- really reassuring.

I can’t help myself. I know this photos is a cliche, but I really, really love it- perhaps the combination of man hands and implied love?

And this… I generally don’t prefer when the groom poses with the bouquet, I like looking at McGlovin in his naturally helpful state 🙂

So, hive…I know man brides lovvvve their formals, and some plan expansive time frames for them. McGlovin and I don’t necessarily love posing for photos, though, so we really hired our photographers because we are in love with their photo journalism style. Who else was a little apprehensive about their ‘photo shoot’? Did it turn out better than you thought? Any tips for other brides?
